Taking A Break

Yipee! Tim and I have ALL of next week off. We're going camping in Montana. We're gonna do anything, but work. Yes...just me, Tim, our sesame seed sized baby, and the outdoors. Oh it'll be great! No alarm clocks. I loathe alarm clocks. ALSO, on Thursday it'll be my 25th birthday! Next week is gonna be awesome! We don't have an itinerary for the trip. So we'll just go where the wind blows and try to avoid the forest fires.

Now in baby news...I'm feel great still. I'm hoping it lasts, but I know it's still pretty early on. But there's no harm in wishful thinking. I'm tired these days, but so what. I was tired before. Now I just have a good reason. And that's it. I think it's finally sunk in for Tim that he's gonna be a daddy. It was surreal for the first few days. I was just too excited and I'm not a very good secret keeper so we told everyone pretty much right away. I know a lot of people like to wait until after the first three months, but that was just way too long for me to hold the news. I haven't told anyone at work though. I can't muster up the courage to. I think it'll be a shock to them. They'd think I'm way too young to be a mommy, but in the LDS world...I should have a bunch of kids by now. Hey give me a break...I got married later than most LDS girls. Took me a while to find Tim.

When are the cravings supposed to start? Will I be eating ice cream and pickles? Did you have any weird cravings when you were pregnant (or did your wife)? Were there any smells that you just couldn't handle when you were preggers? My sister hated the smell of vanilla scented candles with her first baby and with the second she craved cucumbers. A friend of mine couldn't handle the smell of the freezer when she was pregnant. So tell me...what do I have to look forward to?

I still gag when I think of pregnancy and avacados...making anything for the kids to eat, and changing diapers (that happens on your second...lol!)

I didn't crave much, but that is probably because my husband would never get me anything if I did crave it. Hmm. Can't wait to hear what you crave/loathe.

Beef and Cheddars from Arbys along with Velveeta Mac and Cheese. oohhuuuhhmmmlickitylick.
BBQ sauce gagged me to no end.
You may even be lucky enough to have your hip joints give out on you.
OOH! and then there's the point at 5 months where you can FEEL your stomach muscles tearing apart to accommodate your growing bump. nasty.
And the pants peeing? well, you know that story.

We told everyone right away too! I just couldn't help it! Way too excited.
I gagged when i smelled meat. Any kind of meat, chicken, beef, fish. Augh. Nasty. Especially if i could smell it being cooked. Sick.
I probably had a coke slurpee every single day of my pregnancy. Even in winter. There was just something about it i had to have. I also went through a watermelon phase, and a potato salad phase. So odd! Can't wait to hear about what's coming for you!

One time, I was craving a McDonald's cheeseburger so bad, so I made Jared go through the drive-thru when we were in the car. While waiting in the drive-thru line, I got a whiff of those cheeseburger fumes coming from the window and opened my door and puked EVERYWHERE. In the drive thru. We could hear the people behind us dry -heaving from watching me. Sick.

With both pregnancies, I LOVED the smell of the laundry isle at the store. I couldn't get enough of it.

Skye, I always wanted Coke when I was pregnant, too. I don't know why cuz normally I don't even like pop. Weird...

Hmmm cravings huh... well with Ethan it was red licorice. It had to be the twizzlers kind. And the smell of the popcorn isle in the grocery store almost made me barf. We Emma is was ketchup chips. But it had to be Lays. And with both of them my face was really sensitive to really warm water. It actually hurt my face to shower... weird huh!

I didn't have any weird cravings! Well, I craved mexican food more and icecream. This last pregnancy I went through a phase where I wanted pickles and pickles juice. That's a little weird! In my first pregnancy I couldn't stand the smell of popcorn or heater vents! Those smells made me want to die and I hated pizza! This pregnancy, it was garlic, which sucked because I love to cook with the stuff! The smell thing usually goes away sometime during your second trimester, but it could go longer! You're headed for quite the journey! There is SO much you're going to experience in the next 8 months! For me- MOST of it SUCKED! My body doesn't do pregnany well! LOL! But I always end up saying that I'm ready for another one as soon as I'm holding my baby in my arms!

If I were you- enjoy every part of your body NOW! Even take pictures. It will never be the same again! It can get back down to size and look great again, but it will never be the same again! You'll be ALL woman baby!
